young house idiots

We're renovating a house. And we're idiots.

Our Hero… Tara

Tara

Everyone, meet Tara. She’s amazing. Tara is our project manager who came on board shortly before we closed on the house.

Originally, Trent and I had huge plans of handling the home renovations on our own. Let’s be honest – that would have been a disaster.  If Trent had any say in this, he would have put in 12 hot tubs and built a crazy man cave downstairs and poof – there goes the budget. However, luckily through Trent’s colleagues at Lodestone Real Estate, Tara came in to save me from Trent’s crazy ideas.

If you don’t know me, I am really terrible at making decisions which is perfect when renovating a house, right? Tara has really put all my decision-making anxieties at ease and has somehow managed to deal with our lack of home renovating knowledge.  (Trent maintains that he has extensive knowledge of what makes a home valuable and is requiring that I include this disclaimer. It’s important to also maintain his ego, which is fragile.) Tara has been a huge help during this whole process, and thankfully she has limited Trent to more smashing and less building.

On our first day with Tara, we started by walking through the house as she gave us an idea of the costs for our wish list. She then helped us decide what projects and materials are best with our given budget. Once everything was decided, she quoted, scheduled and arranged for work on the house to be done and will continue to work through the project to help see that the renovations stay on track and are executed properly.

Like I said….she’s amazing.
