Hey y’all! We’re Alyssa and Trent from Charlotte, NC. We aren’t married but bought a house anyways. Here is where we talk behind each other’s backs, try to transform each other into the people we hope they will be and all the shenanigans in between. The theme for this blog comes from our two inspirations: Young House Love, an inspiring home renovation blog and our families…..who think we are idiots.
Alyssa: I am currently a nanny/personal assistant for the owners of a local beer garden in Charlotte, NC called VBGB. I have an early childhood degree from Ohio, but I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing with my life. So until I figure life out, this blog and renovating a house will do. There most certainly will be many mistakes along the way – gotta live and learn right?
Trent: I’m a real estate agent with Lodestone Real Estate here in Charlotte. I’ve somehow managed to convince Alyssa not only to date me, but also to purchase this home – an REO that we intend to renovate in the coming months and years. While I think I know what I’m doing, my parents think I’m an idiot. Sometimes it’s hard to argue with them.
Presley: I am a rescue dog that manages to keep these two in line. I’m actually the real reason they bought this house: it has a yard. And squirrels. Need I say more?
